Crazy 8's Tops itself in 2011

Sitting here at YVR waiting for our gate to call our flight to Toronto.  We're on our way to experience the Writers Guild of Canada Awards for the first time.

Before we leave the wet coast, wanted to share the news from the Shorts Report spies we had in the audience at last night's Crazy 8's gala.

Word on the street is that Crazy 8's topped itself this year with a stellar set of films. Kudos to the producers and the entire Crazy 8's team for the great word of mouth buzzing around the films.

The film getting the most raves was Zachary Rothman's Alchemy and Other Imperfections. The raves were unanimous from our Shorts Report spies.

Second up for excitement was Rehan Kokhar's Chained.

Congratulations to all the filmmakers for getting through the last 8 days and becoming part of the legacy of Crazy 8's in Vancouver.  We look forward to hearing more about ALL of this year's Crazy 8's films as they begin their life outside of the gala and out there in the festival world.

Their calling our flight...off we go.
